Fun Attractions for Kids in Las Vegas

Las Vegas isn’t just a fun attraction for party goers nowadays. Those visiting with kids or are new in town may wonder where they can hang with their kids in the middle of the desert. To help guide you to the right place where you can spend some quality time with your children and avoid hearing complaints of how Las Vegas was not fun for them. Here are a few that I have gone to check out for myself that you can add to your vacay to-do-list.


1) The Aquarium – Silverton Casino Resort

Mermaid fans may find The Aquarium at the Silverton Casino Hotel Resort to be a breath taing experience. A 117,000 gallon reef aquarium filled with all sorts of exotic swimmers and even live mermaids. Aside from making a fantasy come to life for children who love mermaids, these ones will interact with kids through the glass by blowing bubbles and waving at them.

2) Discovery Children’s Museum

The Discovery Children’s Museum of Las Vegas, NV keeps kids entertained with art, science, and cultural exhibits. Within the museum, there are nine different themed exhibit halls. In a 58,0000 square foot museum there are tons for children to learn and play.

3) Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon is 277 miles in length and is not too far from the beautiful Colorado River. With a platform designed for tourists to walk on, everyone is sure to experience the perfect scenery of the Grand Canyon.

4) Ethel M Chocolate Factory Tour and Cactus Garden

The “only” Ethel M Chocolate Factory in the world today also has an extroardinary botanical garden of cactuses outside for children to learn about by reading the cactus plaques. Inside the Ethel M Factory, children can witness how Ethel M’s famous chocolates are crafted. And should they want a taste, there is a sweet chocolate shop that sells souvenirs, and of course some of the most addicting chocolates you could ever come across. Located just 15 minutes from the strip, a sweet tooth craving can be satisfied in no time.

5) Floyd Lamb State Park

If you are looking for a nice place to relax at while the kids run free, there is a beautiful 2,040 acre park in the middle of the desert with several different ponds to choose giving to options to fish (with a Nevada State Fishing License), feed ducks, have a picnic, bbq, play volleyball, or even toss some horseshoes around.

*From past fishing trips, there are Catfish and trouts that swim in these ponds.

7) Desperado – Buffalo Bill’s Casino

If you’re driving across the California/Nevada state line, there’s one particular thing site that you wouldn’t be able to help but take notice is Buffalo Bill’s Desperado roller coaster, one of the tallest and fastest roller coasters in the entire country and located in Primm, Nev.

8) Insanity – The Stratosphere

Max Ride Distance: 68-foot distance between passenger and swinging arm base on tower.
Ride Height: 40 feet from observation deck, 906 feet above the Las Vegas Strip.
